Abiel Acosta was born and raised in Ventura, California to a family of hard-working restaurant owners. He understands the long hours and personal sacrifice business owners make and can appreciate the internal drive for success and innate sense of risk that entrepreneurs have.
After high school, Abiel left Ventura for Hanover, New Hampshire, where he graduated with a B.A. in Economics and minor in Religion from Dartmouth College. Although job opportunities in the finance world were plentiful after graduation, Abiel decided to come back to his roots in Ventura and apply his degree in economics and passion in business, to the community he loves.
Abiel’s investment in the community extends beyond work with his clients. He has worked closely with the Boys & Girls Club of Oxnard & Port Hueneme and has served as board president and treasurer for El Centrito Family Learning Centers. He is an active member and past president of Business Network International and a member of Provisors. He devotes time each year to interview local high school students looking to attend his alma mater, Dartmouth College.
Abiel has earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner certification, a certification earned only after meeting rigorous education, examination, experience and ethics requirements. Additionally, he has earned his Certified Business Exit Consultant® designation, which requires 50+ hours of coursework, an exam and submission of a suitable exit plan with an actual business owner. He is an Investment Advisor Representative and Registered Representative of Lincoln Financial Advisors (LFA), a leading financial planning firm. He is also a Select Member of Sagemark Consultng Private Wealth Services (SPWS)*.
* SPWS is a preeminent group of financial planners within Lincoln Financial Advisors Corp. who have prodigious experience in wealth management, business continuity, and sophisticated wealth transfer strategies.
