Abiel Acosta was born and raised in Ventura, California to a family of hardworking restaurant owners. He understands and appreciates the long hours and personal sacrifices many business owners make to pursue their dreams. Likewise, he has seen when those owners reach financial independence and move on to fulfill their succession and legacy plan.
Abiel’s investment in the community extends beyond work with his clients. He has worked closely with the Boys & Girls Club of Oxnard & Port Hueneme and has served as board president and treasurer for El Centrito Family Learning Centers. He is an active member and past president of Business Network International and a member of Provisors, the Ventura Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club of Ventura. He devotes time each year to interview local high school students looking to attend his alma mater, Dartmouth College.
Abiel graduated from Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire in 2004 with a B.A. in Economics and minor in Religion and entered the financial planning industry shortly thereafter. Abiel earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner certification in 2009, a certification earned only after meeting rigorous education, examination, experience and ethics requirements. Additionally, he has earned his Certified Business Exit Consultant® designation, which requires 50+ hours of coursework, an exam and submission of a suitable exit plan with an actual business owner. He is an Investment Advisor Representative and Registered Representative of Lincoln Financial Advisors (LFA), a leading financial planning firm. He is also a Select Member of Sagemark Consulting Private Wealth Services (SPWS)*.
Abiel currently resides in Ventura. Outside of work, he enjoys playing piano, walking through town with his pitbull Naya and most of all, spending time with his fiancée Cristina.
*SPWS is a preeminent group of financial planners within Lincoln Financial Advisors Corp. who have prodigious experience in wealth management, business continuity, and sophisticated wealth transfer strategies.
